Sustainable and decentralised methods for waste management
The problems related to waste management require decentralized and sustainable approach. With more than three decades of experience in the field of waste management, IRTC paves way for sharing its knowledge and experience and various interventions carried out in the sector to the public.
IRTC is hosting a webinar to give a comprehensive idea regarding the entire domain of waste management in the state including success stories. The webinar will be inaugurated by A.C. Moideen, Minister for Local Self Government. Sarada G. Muraleedharan IAS will deliver the keynote address.

Effects of the ongoing pandemic on mental health of the public has opened up new discussions on the topic of mental health all over the world. As part of the response to the stigma and lack of awareness regarding mental health issues among public, IRTC is starting an online awareness programme via Google meet platform.
This is an introductory awareness programme intended to introduce the concepts related to mental health and well-being in the context of Kerala.
The programme is designed for students and general public having no formal training in Psychology or Mental Health.
This is not a professional development course and students or professionals in the areas of Psychology and allied subjects may not learn anything new from this programme.
There will not be any assessment at the end of the programme. There will be a collaborative assignment in which all participants are expected to participate. Medium of instruction will be Malayalam.

IRTC is set to begin short-term online courses in various disciplines including Waste Management, Water Conservation, Research Methodology in Science, Research Methodology in Social Sciences, GIS and Remote Sensing, Community Mental Health, etc. Courses will include video lectures and assignments. A help desk has been set up at IRTC to provide a wide range of services to expatriates who have lost or quit their jobs abroad due to the spread of Covid 19 or other reasons. The help desk aims to provide various services to expatriates returning home including guidelines based on their current occupation, knowledge on services provided by the government agencies in Kerala, training and follow-up in IRTC expertise areas, and entrepreneurship training.
