Trainings and meeting facilities
As an institution with its own indelible mark in various kinds of trainings and also as an accredited training centre of various government and other agencies, IRTC provides a host of facilities for conducting training programmes, conferences, business meetings etc. The atmosphere is serene and calm and the place is well-connected. The ambience provided by IRTC is unique in comfort and convenience. The main campus houses an auditorium with a seating capacity of 200 and an Air-Conditioned Seminar hall.
The newly built Jubilee campus on the National Highway 966 at Poriyani, is another ideal location for conducting training programmes and conferences. Spacious, easily reachable and comfortable, this campus consists of a Computer lab which can support 40 trainees and a conference hall with seating capacity of 40. There are a total of 5 classrooms with a total seating capacity of 280. Multimedia facilities and other electronic facilities are available in both campuses. Participants of various training programmes often undertake a campus tour of IRTC, which is a learning and fulfilling experience where various models of technology integration, livelihood and sustainable development are at display.
Library and Reference
IRTC campus houses a unique library and documentation centre. IRTC library is equipped with various texts on science, developmental issues and watershed based development masterplans of all the Panchayaths in Kerala with E-Catalogue facilities. Cadastral maps, development perspective plans and resource maps of almost all local bodies in the State are present in the reference section. Periodicals, proceedings, research publications and other reports relating to various disciplines is another feature of the documentation centre. The contents of the library have been tagged and catalogued with Koha open source integrated library system. Potential users of the library can search the IRTC library contents online before approaching the library for reference purposes.
A well-equipped GIS Lab with a training capacity of 25 persons in one sitting is a unique facility for GIS and Remote Sensing training in Kerala. The centre is providing trainings round the year. Apart from trainings, the GIS Lab undertakes the mapping and assessment of various geographical data related to disaster management and others.
IRTC has well equipped laboratories of soil testing, water quality analysis, microbiology and biotechnology that cater to the needs of researchers, internees and the general public.
The fully furnished guest houses and dormitories in the campus provide accommodation for 150 people.
The canteen with a seating capacity of 45 people in one sitting provides delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.
Both the campuses have a spacious parking facilities.
