There are sub-centers of IRTC at Trivandrum, Thrissur and Calicut to carry out research on Educational issues of Kerala and to evolve the details of an alternate Education system. Work is going on in curriculum development, content evaluation and pedagogic innovations.

PPC is an offshoot of IRTC, created with the objective of organizing commercial production of its technological innovations like Electronic Ballast, CFL, Hotbox etc, for benefitting the society. The Centre has conceptualized its production ensuring maximum decentralization of the production process along with centralized procurement and quality control.

SPC is another offshoot of IRTC, setup for the production of hand made soaps, detergents and other cosmetics developed by IRTC. It organizes commercial production of these products and have license from Drugs and Cosmetics department for the production. It also supplies ready made ‘kit’s containing chemicals and perfumes, for hand made soap making. view photos>>

All the internal fabrication work of IRTC is now undertaken in the workshop set up at IRTC campus. A few youths selected and engaged as apprentice trainees are now getting trained in different trades, viz., welding, motor mechanic, machinist, electrical motor rewinding, FRP moulding, etc. view photos>>
