Workshop on 'Participatory Rural Appraisal'

Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) is a widely used tool in social research and action, and is a part of the curriculum in areas like social work, rural development, rural management etc. It is of immense utility in collecting reliable data for participatory development planning process. However, there is a lack of adequate facilities to provide hands-on and theoretical training on the process and methods of PRAs.

Integrated Rural Technology Centre (IRTC; www.irtc.co.in) is a Research, Development and Training institution supported by DST, Govt of India and KSCSTE, Govt. of Kerala It is an accredited Training Centre of IKM, KILA, LSGD, MPEDA, and various other government undertakings. Being an R&D institution with a legacy of three decades in participatory research and project implementation, recognises the importance and the need for providing quality hands-on training in methods like PRA for the benefit of students and practitioners

The Social Sciences Division of IRTC is conducting a three day training workshop on PRA from 7th to 9th July, 2017. Students, Activists, or Researchers with an interest in learning are invited to apply for registration using the link provided here.
